£35

You will be taught how to draft a skirt shell from scratch, make a toile and transfer alterations back to your basic pattern. There may be an opportunity to draft your personal design after making the basic draft time permitting. This workshop is designed as the first step in pattern making and the other workshops follow on from this but you may enrol for just the parts that you wish to cover.
You will need to supply some fabric for the toiles (old sheets will do) plus a full length ruler, pencil and pen as well as the usual sewing kit.

Part 2 - Tops (in two parts)
Saturday 15th &29th October 9.30am - 1.30pm
£60

This part of the course covers the more complex area of drafting tops. There is more fitting involved including sleeves. You may require more fabric for toiles as it is not unusual to have to make more than one toile. Apart from this requirements for the workshop are the same as for the skirt drafting one At the end of this workshop we will look at how to join the top with the skirt pattern to form a dress and there should be time for some design work.

Part 3 - Trousers (Drafting and Making)
Saturday 12th &26th November 9.30am - 1.30pm
£60

I have decided to make this a two-parter to allow more time for fitting and recutting as many times as necessary! I see the second session as an opportunity for you to actually make a pair of trousers from your pattern and to introduce any more adjustments that may be necessary. The making is easy but we are going to endeavour to achieve a perfect fit for every one of you! Requirements are as for previous workshops plus fabric for making your trousers.

One week course to cover all three parts and crack pattern drafting in one go!
